How We Will Work With You
Our work together will explore your current difficulties using the following framework:
1. The Whole Person Approach
Looking at how you respond to situations, from a range of perspectives.
2. The Environment
Creating an environment in our work together that enables you to identify and be supported in the changes you are seeking.
3. The Neuroscience
Incorporating findings from neuroscience to inform change and growth.
The Whole Person Approach
We will think about and work with you to discover how you are coping with your challenges, using the following perspectives:
- The way you think and your style of thinking
- Your emotions and the way you experience them
- How you feel inside and your bodily and physiological responses
- How you behave including habitual reactions and responses.
We use this framework to explore with you what is most concerning you and to identify the issues that are having the most direct and significant negative impact on your day-to-day life. We will look together at how this influences your internal reactions and how you are around other people.
The Environment
What we bring
- A relationship which is confidential, supportive, unbiased and non-judgemental to enable you to explore your difficulties with us
- Advanced knowledge and expertise of the different ways in which people function that allows us to quickly gain clear perspectives on complex problems and emotions
- We will listen intently and compassionately to what you say, observe what may not be being said, and ask precise questions which, at times, may challenge you.
How this helps you:
- Sharing and exploring your difficulties in this way can lead to remarkably different perspectives, including an understanding of how your current challenges are shaped by earlier experiences, relationships and habitual ways of being
- Having such an understanding deepens your ability to reflect on your habitual reactions providing a foundation for making different choices and decisions in your life.
What you bring
- There are hurdles to overcome when seeking support – making time and space for the work, the financial commitment involved and managing the uncomfortable feelings which may arise when having open conversations about your difficulties. However, research shows that client motivation and engagement are key factors in the client’s experience of successful therapy
- Your intention and motivation to better understand yourself and address your difficulties are important if you are going to make changes. If you can bring the courage to be curious about yourself, you will find that this will greatly enhance the process.
Neuroscience
- Our approach is underpinned by perspectives from neuroscience, the study of how the brain and nervous system develop and function
- Detailed research into how our brains and bodies respond to different events and circumstances, confirms and advances psychological theories about human development and how the body and mind influence one another; the ‘mind/body’ connection
- You will gain insights into how brain functioning impacts your work performance and your emotional and physical wellbeing. We will work with you to help you notice the ways in which you habitually react and explore with you other possibilities. Research shows that working in this way together supports the growth of new neural pathways in the brain.

Opportunity for Change
The use of this framework:
- Enables a deeper perspective and understanding, which goes beyond the provision of skills and techniques
- Creates the opportunity for you to understand and ultimately change how you might approach, behave, or react to the challenges you face
- Helps you come to recognise old ways of coping that have not worked and learn new ways of coping that serve you better, which will in turn help improve your personal and professional relationships.
